Comments: This wisteria has shorter racemes than Wisteria floribunda, but its flowers are especially fragrant. This specimen, growing against the pergola, also ended up in Leiden botanic garden because of Von Siebold. Until recently this wisteria was known as Wisteria sinensis, Chinese wisteria, but recently the identification of this specimen has been revised.
