Comments: P. cambessedesii is endemic to the Balearic Islands and grows on limestone cliffs and rocks. It is named after Jacques Cambessèdes, a botanist who bequeathed his herbarium to the botanical garden of Montepellier in the south of France. It grows to a height of 60 cm. and flowers in mid spring. The colour of its single flowers varies from magenta to deep red, the sepals have dark streaks.
